Our jewellery is designed and manufactured with care, we therefore advise our customers to treat the product with the same care.
Jewellery should be nurtured and cared for. We always encourage to keep Sif Jakobs Jewellery items in their original boxes when not in use. The jewellery boxes are designed to protect the jewellery and are inclusive in all online purchases.
We also recommend that special care is taken of rings when washing hands or applying skin cream. The stones and their sockets will maintain their beauty longer if they are not exposed to soap and cream. Do not spray perfume directly onto the jewellery.
All of our jewellery is made of 925 sterling silver, the jewellery will therefore not loose its look once the rhodium or rose gold plating disappears.
Pour a small quantity of PH-neutral soap into some lukewarm water and use a small, soft bristle brush to clean the jewellery. A soft bristle brush is ideal for cleaning jewellery with patterns, which can otherwise be difficult to clean. If the dirt is hard to remove, soak the jewellery in clean water.
A polishing cloth is very useful, as it will make silver jewellery shine again if it has become dull. It will not, however, remove scratches.
The black rhodium, which surrounds the stones on the black zirconia jewellery, will eventually disappear. This will happen more rapidly if a ring is placed on a wet hand, for example, or contaminated by the use of perfumed lotion.
Rose gold plating
Gold plating is a method of depositing a thin layer of gold onto the surface of e.g. silver. The gold plating will eventually disappear. This will happen more rapidly if a ring is placed on a wet hand, for example, or contaminated by the use of perfumed lotion.
The popular creole earrings, such as Catania, may occasionally become difficult to close. This happens usually as a result of the closure becoming accidentally bent during use, but it can be easily remedied by gently flexing the closure so that it "clicks" into the lock again.
